Dip Into Gorges Du Verdon
The Gorges du Verdon is often referred to as Europe’s ‘grand canyon’, but one could argue it is much more beautiful and diverse than the actual Grand Canyon, and quite a bit smaller in scale. Rather than viewing a barren desert, red rock and a brown river at the bottom of the canyon, visitors to the Gorges du Verdon stare out at a wooded terrain on the other side of the canyon, which is flanked by granite and features an aqua colored (lazy) river at its bottom.
The Gorge is an ideal location for a day trip or overnight camping along the river and the Lac de Sainte-Croix. The primary activity in the summer is found in or on the water — kayaking, paddle boating and swimming. Perhaps they would rather walk through the blooming lavender fields in nearby Provence and have a Rosé?
Fortunately for your entire crew, you can easily do both of these activities in one day.
